Notice Regarding Our Participation and Team in 2019

Thank you very much for your continued support of GOODSMILE RACING & TeamUKYO.

GOOD SMILE COMPANY (Headquarters: Chiyoda, Tokyo; President: Takanori Aki), which manages GOODSMILE RACING, the Hatsune Miku GT Project based on the concept of “THE RACING TEAM DRIVEN BY FANS,” will participate in the GT300 class of “SUPER GT,” the top level of sports car racing in Japan, again in 2019 as “GOODSMILE RACING & TeamUKYO.”

In 2018, which was the 10th anniversary of the Hatsune Miku GT Project, we battled in SUPER GT with the objective of defending our title as series champions in 2017. The championship was contested very fiercely, as we were in the running until the final lap of the final race, but we could not make our dream of repeating as champions come true, as we unfortunately fell a step short and finished the season in 4th place.
In 2019, we will turn over a new leaf and aim to reclaim our throne by participating in SUPER GT with the same team.

We will continue with our immortal team of Takanori Aki as the representative entrant, former F1 driver Ukyo Katayama as the coach, Nobuteru Taniguchi and Tatsuya Katayama as the drivers, RS-FINE as the maintenance garage, the Mercedes-AMG GT3 as the car, and YOKOHAMA as the tires.

Annin Dofu, who is enjoying success as the character designer of the Idolmaster Cinderella Girls, took charge of “Racing Miku 2019 Ver.,” the official character of the Hatsune Miku GT Project in 2019.
Shigeto Koyama, the character designer, mechanical designer, and project art director of the Hatsune Miku GT Project from 2014-2018, will continue to take charge of the art direction for the entire project.
The livery of the car is scheduled to be revealed at Tokyo Auto Salon, which will take place in Makuhari Messe from January 11th – 13th, 2019.

Outside of SUPER GT, we will participate again in “SUZUKA 10 HOURS,” which was held for the first time in 2018.
Similarly to last year, Kamui Kobayashi will join as the 3rd driver for SUZUKA 10 HOURS and battle together for 10 hours.
