Hatsune Miku GT Project to Participate in the 2022 SUPER GT Season

GOOD SMILE COMPANY, INC. (Headquarters Chiyoda City Tokyo, President: Takanori Aki) is the developer of the Hatsune Miku GT Project and Good Smile Racing under the concept, “Racing Team That Drives With Its Fans.”The project is participating in the 2022 SUPER GT GT300 class, Japan’s premier automobile race as GOODSMILE RACING ＆ TeamUKYO.

Hatsune Miku GT Project has won series championships three times in the history of SUPER GT participation in 2011, 2014, and 2017. However, in the past few years, the project struggled due to the difficult balance of performance (BoP) adjustment of the Mercedes-AMG GT3 used for the competition.
To overcome this situation, the team strengthened collaboration with HWA, which provides customer support for Mercedes-AMG. In addition, from 2020, the team communicated with German engineers remotely during the race week to bring out the maximum machine performance relying on engineering support and have been on the honor podium despite struggles.
In 2022, this collaboration will be deepened further to continue to win series championships with Mercedes-AMG GT3.

The team’s symbolic Hatsune Miku GT Project Official Character is “Hatsune Miku Racing Ver. (commonly known as Racing Miku).” For the character, the design in 2022 will be made by the character designer and illustrator neco, who designs the characters for Heavily Armed High School Girls and FALSLANDER, in addition to Hatsune Miku designs for MIKU EXPO 2016.
Shigeto Koyama will continue to be in charge of the overall project’s art direction. He is a 30AD character designer who has been in charge of the art direction of the Hatsune Miku GT Project since 2014. He will make the overall project visuals appealing.
The machine coloring will be announced at the Tokyo Auto Salon which will be held at Makuhari Messe from January 14th (Fri) to January 16th (Sun), 2022.
